Anna Gong Folding Cake Stand

The Alessi Anna Gong is a wonderful homage to one of Alessi’s best selling designs of the 1960s, the evocatively named 898 folding cake stand.

With the Anna Gong we see designer Alessandro Mendini incorporate the essence of the original - when closed, it’s a table-top sculpture and when open, it becomes a multi-tiered cake stand that can be used at the table. Mendini incorporates his own iconic Anna G motif into the design and the resulting design fusion is such a success that it brings about that special ‘Ooooo!’ moment when seen in the flesh.
